Manifesto!

This next project was a group based project and for me, it was an extension of my ‘colour and line’ project. As a group we focused on trying to create a space. Our main idea was to use lights and string to create shadows of which we painted the ‘spaces’ that they created. We used all different colours to do this and painted the string that crossed in its complementary colour. I think that this worked really well, but I think that it would have looked far more impressive if we had done it on a larger scale and possible taken more care  with the painting!

We also produced a second piece for this project and came to this idea by complete accident! We started experimenting with using the light from the over-head projector and reflecting colours onto the walls. This was not working as well as we hoped and then one member of the group spilt coloured water onto the projector! This lead to us taking this further and we started to drop bits of food colouring into the water to create patterns. This looked really effective and most of the patterns looked a but like cells! We finally decided to make a short film of us creating these patterns and projected it onto the wall at the exhibition.
